The Anaconda is able to consolidate multiple high-bandwidth functions onto a single board. It can drastically reduce system cost when used to replace existing multi-board solutions. Shown here are some examples of current customer projects that utilize the power of Anaconda’s rich feature set: The first example utilizes the Anaconda in aviation component manufacturing. This system stretches and forms sheets of Aluminum into specific shapes used for aircraft fuselage skins. As this is a relatively slow process, the Anaconda provides the necessary CPU performance with a rich set of I/O. The system also makes use of the Anaconda’s extensive on-board I/O including the Mini PCIe socket for an additional communications interface. Secondly, a defensive side-scanning countermeasure system for marine use. This application originally used an older LX800 based Single Board Computer. When that SBC went EOL due to component life issues, the application was upgraded to Anaconda. Anaconda provides the application with a long-life platform with the required performance that is optimized for lower-power consumption. The semiconductor manufacturing industry requires long-term reliability in their products. The Anaconda is used in multiple applications due to its lower-power operation combined with the on-board Analog-to-Digital converter and general purpose inputs and outputs. As the Anaconda is at the start of its life in 2015, these companies can count on VersaLogic supplying standard product for a minimum of 5 years. This life can be extended through product longevity options to 15 or 20 years as needed. The last application uses the Anaconda in railway systems. The Anaconda is the controller in a next-generation platform used to scan and monitor rolling stock for abnormal conditions or defects which potentially could be detrimental to rail operations. The Anaconda will be placed in extreme environments which mandate lower-power operation and wide operating temperature range. The Anaconda was ultimately chosen due to long-term product availability, as well as overall reliability.
