Gener8 is a full-service turnkey Design and Manufacturing Company. Our unique blend of strong and complete engineering services with a complete manufacturing services offers a strategic advantage to our customers in that our design is DFM, DFR, and DFC driven and our manufacturing is strongly supported by a world class engineering group.

Gener8’s engineering group is approximately 180 people and is led by Dan Chandler. Gener8’s engineering department has the skill set necessary for cutting edge instrumentation development. This includes electrical, mechanical, optical, microfluidics, software and firmware engineering. Our team has deep experience with over 40 PhDs and a managerial team that is primarily comprised of executive level (primarily VPE and CEO level) veterans of successful startups.

Gener8’s operations group is comprised of approx. 160 people and is led by Alfred Macha. The team specializes in high complexity electro-optical and electro-mechanical assemblies and the majority of our manufacturing services are biotech or medical companies. Gener8 typically operates 2 shifts, but adds a 3rd shift during periods of peak demand. Gener8 uses a partner model to provide a maximum of flexibility for high capital cost commoditized operations such as CNC and PnP. Gener8 has offshore fabrication team, focused injection molding, PCB Fab, and machining, but assembly is done in California. Gener8 uses QAD for its ERP and Arena for its Document Control and training records.

Through its subsidiary, Symbient Product Development (https://www.symbientpd.com/) Gener8 also offers the realization of molded complex consumable components for medical and biotech devices at rapid speed to provide a complete and optimized instrument-consumable solution. Gener8 is currently certified to both ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016 by BSI. We are licensed for medical device manufacturing by the FDB. We have a multi-tier approach to balance our QMS to the needs of each product without maintaining GMP for all products.

Gener8 has over 120 active customers, Some of our customers include ShotSpotter, 10X (microfluidic tool for DNA sequencing), Inscripta (gene editing), and Boston Scientific (Medical Laser). For these example customers, Gener8 has designed some of their products, while others were directly transferred from previous Contract Manufacturers.
